Take any job you can get. Once your foot is in the door then you can meet people and parlay that job into something different. $20/hr Doesn't sound like a lot, but the OT adds up quickly. I only make 60/hr and it pans out to > $200k/yr
Be friendly, work hard, don't be a know-it-all (If someone takes the time to explain something to you, let them even if you already know how something works). Your entry level job isn't where you'll end up, but do your best.

*If you're not alert to the dangers present (pinch points, dropped objects, etc.) you can get hurt or hurt others around you. Even if a job is really monotonous, take a few seconds every now and then to scan your environment for potential safety issues. Report them or fix them. Just getting good at recognizing hazards can lead to a career as a kiss ass safety guy making 6 figs anywhere in the country. |
