The cops were lazy as fuck.
The victim's little brother was obviously the "anonymous azn teen caller" that told them to focus on Adnan.
And then the black friend, who probably really committed the murder, blamed Adnan because he realized that's who the cops were focused on and bam! Adnan gets arrested.
