It’s like your system is too deflated and clogged up to allow anxiety or ruminations. Your breaths are more measured and you feel more in control of your self somehow.

I was chill and had something approaching a sense of humor when I had to get on DXM for a while as I was recovering from a chest cold. At times I even think about getting on DAT LEAN. Then I remember my mother telling me I have an addictive personality and that I'm codependent. She's right. I have to stay away from these things but I continue to imagine how nice and normal I could be!

I never understood the argument that you shouldn’t take drugs for wellness because there’s a risk of addiction. Even if you’re addicted, the drugs are still serving their intended purpose - to make you feel better. The opposing argument seems to be “you shouldn’t take stuff that makes you feel better because then you’ll want to feel better more often”.

Well, it becomes more complex because of human psychology. Especially when the drug is kind of effective or even sensitizes you to bad effects like pain (and DXM is an opiate and opiates have been shown to be like this). It sets up a pattern of intermittent reward which is very very dangerous for the human mind especially because that reinforces doing it as frequently as possible as strongly as possible.

The DXM did its job of helping my lungs feel better but the psychological dimension was going to be a huge problem.
