Regardless of political views, I would hope most people would agree that it can be a very fine line between serving as an outlet to publish confidential state secrets and conspiring with an individual to illegally obtain confidential state secrets. How can people be certain that Assange didn't cross this line?

I am saying this as someone who generally supports Wikileaks.
