However, I do a lot of actual work too. I do all the mediations, I take all depositions (I usually have a contract attorney defend them), do all the negotiations, do all the bookkeeping/check writing, do all the marketing, close all the new leads, and I speak with adjusters/opposing counsel all day.
My staff does 99% of the day-to-day though. They open claims, send rep letters, get cars repaired, get rental vehicles, schedule clients with doctors, file lawsuits, respond to discovery, set depositions, file continuances, get first party coverages, collect medical records, draft demands, update clients, get treatment status, and mail out checks. |

In comparison, I am a partner in a global law firm with a plaintiff-oriented practice. my personal book is ~5M (so somewhat close to CSLG) but I have never first-chaired a trial. I still have to write briefs, discovery letters, endless meet-and-confers, draft complaints, rog responses, expert reports, argue all the hearings, mediations, etc.
Granted, my practice is in federal court. |

- "Sweet James" by James Bergener
- "one eight hundred eight...million jingle" from THE BARNES FIRM (attorneyjohnsheehanisresponsibleforthisad)
- "SUPER WOMAN SUPER LAWYER" by some chick whose billboards I remember but name I forget
- "Call Jacob" by Jacob Emrani (imo these kind of suck but he has a ton of billboards)
also if you had to hire a PI lawyer for yourself or a family member, which dude that heavily markets in the LA area would you use?
finally, what is the ballpark marketing budget for those places? 100k a month? how much does it cost to get a billboard on the 110 going out of san pedro? is the ROI for a billboard better leaving a place where a lot of PI plaintiffs may live (like the 110 in san pedro) or is it better on the 405? |

I would never hire any of the lawyers that heavily market. They are all shitty mills. They just sift through cases to find 7 figure cases to farm out to the big trial guys. They treat anything 100K or less like garbage and do shit work.
Jacob (I've spoken with him a lot) told me he spends about 1 million/month on ads, burg and Brock spend about 500K/month, and the Barnes Firm is around the same. Not sure about how much the other ones spend. |
