1. What is Jordan Speith's deal and when is he going to get it together?
2. Rickie Fowler has to be one of the biggest disappointments of the weekend. Shoots a 5-under 66 to open and then plays the next 3 rounds in a combined +7. When is he going to win a major?
3. Sadly, I think we can kiss goodby Lefty's chance of ever winning a US Open.

1. he's close, but when he was winning it was because of superhuman putting, and i have to question whether it was a little bit of luck involved. still think he'll win a couple more majors.
2. despite always having a calm demeanor, he just doesn't win much. how many wins in general does he have? 5 or less?
3. yeah i agree. he'll have to do it the next couple years if there's any chance. his usual "hit it wherever off the tee and scramble for birdies" doesn't work at the us open

1. yeah, probably right, though it's concerning that he hasn't won a tournament in almost 2 years after winning 10 events in roughly the same time period immediately prior.
2. Rickie has 5 victories, which isn't great for someone with his talent about to turn 31
3. he'd have to get lucky. i don't think he has the game anymore to play 4 good rounds at the USO

1. Spieth is an autistic, gay, bald fraud. Plus, he was never a great ballstriker. He made his money with his out-of-this-world putting and iron play. Now he still can't hit the ball and his putting is so-so (but appears to be coming around). He freaked at his caddy because he's struggling. Yes, he looked like a bitch, but he's really been scuffling, and these kinds of things eventually bubble up when you spend that much time with someone under stressful circumstances.
2. I'm officially done with Ricky until he goes out and actually wins something meaningful. He's becoming JAG with flashy clothes. He's been surpassed by all the young guys like Thomas, Schauffle, Spieth, Reed, Koepka, etc. Still, he's good enough to back into a major victory at some point.
3. Lefty still hits it plenty long, but his swing just doesn't allow for any consistency. His putting has gone to shit too. If he's in form heading into Winged Foot next year, he still has an outside shot. But that will be his last real chance.

Spieth's super weak grip creates a lot of timing issues. He was never a great ball striker.
He's starting to putt like he used to but I think the field has improved since he was playing.
The fix: Put his right hand under the grip a little bit more. He'll stay with the shot better and not dump/flip at it.
Tough to change when its won for you in the last tho! Bump when he changes it and starts winning :)

dont really agree he was never a great ball striker. he ranked 11th in approaches and 15th in driving in "strokes gained" back in 2015. he was never long but had a great move that kept the clubface close to square longer than anyone else.
imo his coach fucked him up with some wrong ideas he had to get him even better. if you watch this video he wants spieth flatter on the backswing and then manipulating the path from the top to move the ball either way. he shows going over the top(with right elbow away from the torso) to fade at 1:20(ljl). it's no wonder he got steep and hit a terrible tee shot on 12 in the final round in '16 at augusta if thats the thought he had in the middle of his swing. this move also caused the pulled tee shot on 18 there last year when he needed birdie to shoot the course record and keep us from hearing faldo talk about imagine dragons as reed went on to win. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLO1yl1C0Sw
compare that to here during his run of 180 golf in '15 where he hits a perfect fade by opening it up in the backswing, keeps his right elbow in through the ball and holds off the face from turning over. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4xgkWIx0Xw
