Friend initially went to a different PI lawyer who was a total retarded fuck-up, and did a horrible job working up the case and damages. For example, PI lawyer sent friend to a physical therapist instead of a chiro.

Original PI lawyer kept insisting on friend doing a recorded statement with the defendant's adjuster. No competent lawyer would ever advise this, and I told my friend not to do this. Friend felt desperate and eventually agreed to do a non-recorded interview with the adjuster.

Worst of all, the original PI lawyer kept trying to persuade friend that the case was shit because there was a neutral witness who saw the accident and alleges that friend was not actually hit. (Friend suspected that the defendant and the witness knew each other because defendant was a teacher and the accident happened right near her middle school, and the witness was mommy age. The original PI lawyer wouldn't investigate this. Chandler later discovered that the "neutral" witness was has a kid in the teacher's class and has had another kid previously in the teacher's class.)

Original PI lawyer insisted on friend settling for nuisance value (don't remember, like one or two grand), and refused to file a lawsuit.

Friend then tried to find another lawyer to take the case, and had a hard time because the case was poorly worked up. Eventually friend found another PI lawyer who took the case and basically didn't do anything and sat on it. And then insisted on settling it for nuisance value and wouldn't file suit.

Then I sent friend to CSLG, and chandler took over the case. It was far too late for chandler to work up the damages, so he was stuck with a dog case that was improperly handled. Chandler filed suit, did discovery and got the insurance company to fork over $40K at mediation. If friend had hired CSLG/chandler from the beginning, it would have been bank. But Chandler still got an amazing result from a case that other attorneys tried to make friend settle for pennies.

I see crashes all the time when I'm out walking around. I'm always tempted to go up to them and say I have a friend who can get you cash, call him, but it might weird people out.
