"Becoming a doctor is still a good idea, not only for humanity, but also financially. Bloomberg notes that four of the top five highest-paid jobs, according to its figures, are in the world of medicine with a general practitioner coming out on top. The stats refute the idea that finance, big tech and law are the real road to riches in the United States. The report notes that food workers are some of the lowest-paid people in the country."

still seems pretty low.
not sure why they never include bankers or hedge fund analysts who average $500k.

So the jobs that are the most in demand, require the most credentials, take the most raw brain power, skill and technical ability to do, pay the highest because of scarcity?
Got it. Weird, it's almost like the system was set up to do this.

i was with you until raw brain power
i have a decent amount of doctor friends and they're straight up grinders and spend a lot of time memorizing things
that's respectable but no harder than learning how to take apart a car as a mechanic.

All this says is the healthcare data is more segregated by their titles
You can't compare specialized doctors to "computer programmers" and "financial analysts" they're words apart in average competency, you'd have to come up with something like "computer programmers who went to a top 100 US/global school, came out with a 3.6 or better, and did a few months of leetcode" to have a balanced comparison vs someone who did a surgical residency or something. only the medical field gets these additional filters reflected in their job titles, whether you work for the world's biggest quant hedge fund or a strip mall Edward Jones you're a "financial analyst"
