Someone who can get into the T14 and *wants/would like* to be a lawyer. Being a lawyer is a very good job for the right personality type, IMO. Lots of ex biglaw/t14 types on xo either had no reason to think they wanted to do law and just chose it bc they were smart enough and it was the path of least resistance.
T14=>biglaw=>litigation is 180 if you enjoy litigating. The hours can be bad but if you’re t14 and smart and willing to bill enough you’ll stick around at least 6-7 years and have a ton saved. Oh you’ll never ever be made partner at a V25? Yeah, it’s long odds but for that but the odds on landing counsel at some vault firm or lateraling to a boutique, lesser amlaw firm, or midlaw and doing counsel=> partner are not bad a all and will reliably allow you to earn $300,000+ doing something you like. *Detractors on xo had no actual reason for thinking they wanted to do law in the first place (and has never held a real job other than biglaw, as they went to their T14 to *avoid* getting a job, MAF, bitching online that having to keep track ofhours and review shit you write for s/v agreement is inhumane torture that has “sniffed out” the inner creativity they know for certain would have led them to greatness if only they’d never gotten off Penn’s waitlist*
