I'm not going to specify which park

1. The park-goers were very ethnically diverse, and uncomfortably so. It felt like I was on some island not controlled by any country that just drew people from all over the world indiscriminately, though fewer Asians. I actually think I would have felt more comfortable in some amusement park in Japan where most everyone there was Japanese. The amount of diversity was way more than modern day US numbers (i.e., not close to 65% non-Hispanic whites).

2. The number of Muslims was eye-opening. I remember going to amusement parks when I was a teen and seeing lots of blacks, but can't recall seeing many Muslims at all. Muslims are way worse. It's such a culture shock, and you can instinctively tell that they are an ideological group.

3. We got an unlimited fast pass that allowed us to skip the line for all the good rides. I cannot imagine going to the amusement park without one. Who the fuck would spend a hot day standing in lines? There was once an article poasted on here about fast passes and whether people using them should feel guilty. I didn't feel guilty at all, largely because I was subsidizing everyone's visit.

4. The cohort of park-goers was less obese than I would have thought. I suppose I was expecting 95% whales. There were many fat people, but there were also more in-shape and average people than I thought there would be. I will say however that tattoos were out of control.

5. The adage "use third world people, get third world results" was in full effect. It's incredibly obvious why third-world immigration will not help this country.

6. People dress like absolute shit. We may be less formal today, but imo it is for the worse. Everyone is looking for comfort instead of looking good.

7. Amusement park rides made me way more dizzy and disoriented as an adult than as a child.

8. The food was all literal garbage.

9. I can't see myself going back, and can understand why amusement parks are going out of business.

It wasn't like 20% Muslim or anything, but it is very noticeable because of how they dress and act.

Absolutely agreed re: the tattoos. Comfortable majority of adults <40 have 2-5 fairly large tattoos that are revealed in short pants, short sleeves, or tank tops. It's disgusting.

Can you talk about the employees?

Here, they are 100% Mexican at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and are essentially robots, but at California's Great America in Santa Clara, there are still white and Asian teens / college-aged kids who appear to be working summer jobs, which was nice to see - felt like 30 years ago - they were cheerful and friendly, especially to my daughter.

Basically as you said. They don't think about what they are doing. They have attitude. Etc.

But I'm also talking about the park-goers themselves. I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said before, but if you put everyone in full bodysuits covering each inch of skin, it would be pretty easy to determine who was white and Asian and who wasn't, just by actions and way of doing things, how they follow the rules, how they interact and show (or not show) respect for others, etc.

I went to Universal Studios in LA last year and regretted not getting the fast pass. It was an absolute zoo and standing in two-hour lines in the heat was absolute hell. Never again.

Well keep in mind this was on a Saturday in the summer.

Theme parks have had tons of problems in recent history. They are expensive to operate, but can only charge so much to get enough people through the gate.

But when they don't charge enough, the quality of the consumer goes way down and that keeps away the bigger spenders.

local amusement parks with 15-minute waits are fine and good for pacing, but Disney-like 2-hour waits make me wish I were back in the office.

I believe it was a Friday during the late summer. But I would see if there are any sites out there that track how busy big amusement parks are. It may make sense that it is considerably less packed on a random Tuesday in April, but that's when a bunch of annual pass retards go.

Excellent scholarship. Theme parks are prole. Those who visit yearly or more (some people have "annual passes" and go several times per year) are both prole and mentally deranged/infantilized.

took my kids (both under 10) to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka last weekend

it's funny to compare this with a stateside experience. it was hot as fuck and totally packed. decided not to buy a fastpass (almost 100 bucks more per person), but it was OK because my kids aren't tall enough to go on some of the rides that would have most benefitted from it.

longest line I waited in was about an hour. I've heard that sometimes wait times can be 300 minutes. fuck that noise.

the general customer service level was amazing. I can honestly say that Every Single Interaction i had with the staff there was almost surreally friendly. not a huge surprise in Japan.

lots of Chinese and Koreans. They are clearly vastly inferior to teh Japs.

some muslims as well. not a lot. maybe 10 total.

food was overpriced and generally not great.
