Take that annual cost and divide it by 12. Child support should be reduced by that monthly amount so that dad has enough money to buy the tickets.
There is a California Supreme Court case that allows this deviation from the support guidelines, but I forget what its called.
It is sort of a constructive trust theory. We need to create this constructive trust by allowing dad to save money each month so he can afford tickets to see his kids, which is in the kids' best interest to do so as maintaining a strong bond with both parents is important. |
