I've been bracing for this result for some days now, so I'm not too shocked by it.

I can't help but feel disappointed in my fellow countrymen. That so many would look at Boris Johnson, a man who has never shown an ounce of integrity in his life, a serial liar, adulterer, racist, coward, and think "this man speaks for me" fills me with pity and sadness. This really is our Trump moment. The Tory party and the media that have aided them in conducting such a disgusting underhanded campaign have unleashed something deeply sinister on this nation's democratic process that can't be reversed. I strongly feel that the United Kingdom as we know it will not survive this government.

But as much as I feel hopeless and want to give up on this country, and as much as I want to wish his supporters great suffering in the catastrophe they are bringing upon themselves...I won't. It's exactly what Boris wants. It's what Cummings wants. Even the Russians, with their attempts to interfere in this election, want to divide us and have us lose faith in our democracy entirely.

I won't give up. I will resist this government with every fibre of my being, and I implore you all to do the same. I will not stand idly by while Boris Johnson puts the nail in the coffin of the United Kingdom.
