No Danica. Rodgers choked in Seattle, SF and Atlanta. My point is that ownership went cheap instead of trying to get proper weapons around him.

Since all those packers fans love calling themselves "owners" I guess it's on them

They've had enough talent to win with Rodgers; McCarthy was just a mediocre coach.

Their loss to the Seahawks in the NFC championship game was the single worst coaching job ever given the stakes and the difference in ability between the two teams. They had no business losing that game.

People forget that the only reason the Packers made it to the 2010 playoffs at all was because the Lions somehow won on the road against the Bucs. If they don't win that one ring they'd be the NFC's version of the Chargers.

This is why I always say Gisele has been the MVP of the Patriots. It has always been easy for Brady to play to his contract since he was perpetually underpaid because his wife is worth $400M

I've heard it said that if you take away 2011 and 2014 (two seasons were Rodgers was legitimately the best player in the NFL) and Rodger's has had a merely average career on par with Eli Manning.

Pretty much, but something has to be said for Brady playing some of the best games of his career during the most important games. The Super Bowls against the Hawks, Falcons, and Eagles were masterpieces. That should count for something.

Davante Adams is a decent #1, but he’s no Julio Jones, and they don’t have any other good receivers or tighends. That’s not particularly good offensive support—even with a decent offensive line and a pretty good runningback (but again, A. Jones is no Henry or Christian McCaffrey). Really easy to just look at the stat sheet and wins and losses in football, but also really stupid.

He’s good. He’s also not a “top 5” receiver, although his production is excellent in part because a) his QB is outstanding and b) there’s no one else worth spreading targets to, although of course this means defenses have more freedom to roll coverage in his direction

He wasn’t a top 5 receiver by any reasonable measure or probably anywhere close to it that season, and I followed them closely then. On the other hand, Rodgers was again outstanding, his mysterious 2015 “decline” (LJL it coincided with him having jackshit passing options) somehow behind him.

What context? The fact that he almost never bothers to set his feet before throwing and relies purely on arm now? The fact that he takes way too many sacks despite having the best pass blocking line in the league? The fact that he is among lead leaders in throwing passes away?

Rodgers is not *bad*, but he's nowhere near a top five quarterback now. Lamar Jackson, for instance, was playing with a similar amount of talent on offense and looked like an MVP. Same for Drew Brees, same for Dak Prescott, same for Deshaun Watson.
