Ira Glass could make $400,000 on the open market. But he's not on the open market, he's at a publicly funded radio station. If he wants to make entertainer level money, he should get out of the public sector and be an entertainer.
And the reason the critics are right, is because of the fact that Ira Glass's fame is due to our tax dollars. We subsidize the production, marketing teams, advertising, and other aspects of the show that make Ira Glass famous.
So basically, our tax dollars made Glass famous, and now that he's famous, Julia is arguing he deserves more of our tax dollars. It's sort of criminal when you think about it. |
