Why did Britain and America go to war against Germany in WW2?

Date: April 9th, 2020 1:08 PM Author: impertinent ticket booth After watching the Plot Against America on HBO, I'm curious why Britain and America were so zealous about going to war against Germany, when if they didn't, it most likely would have meant a strong Germany in Europe, but probably peace after that for everyone.
Was the fear that Germany would just never stop until it conquered the entire world? This seems a little bit naive.
Or was it business interests that saw a strong Germany as a threat to global hegemony? |
