We test drastically more for COVID than the Flu, so Flu infection rates are probably higher IRL

that said, it looks like it's going to be a bad flu at most.

People anchor on NY / NJ death rates without realizing those Governors artificially inflated their rates by literally sending infected elderly patients back to nursing homes to kill others.

1 of every 6 nursing home patients in New Jersey died of COVID. Nursing home patients were 40% of their deaths.

As long as there aren't retarded policies like that and we focus on isolating and quarantining the elderly, death rates will be much lower

You don't think combining those causes is a little misleading? You can get pneumonia from tons of things besides viruses like influenza. They're combined because both are in the pulmonology specialty, i.e., lung doctors find that a useful number -- not virologists. Fewer than 10 percent of those deaths were probably attributed to influenza.

For example:

There were 56,832 deaths due to pneumonia and influenza in 2013, which combined were the

eighth leading cause of death in the U.S. Pneumonia consistently accounts for the overwhelming majority of the combined pneumonia and

influenza deaths. In 2013, 53,282 people died from pneumonia and 3,550 people died from

influenza.

It’s only misleading if people with COVID who die of pneumonia are not being categorized as COVID deaths.

And while many things can cause pneumonia, by far the leading cause of it is influenza
