He might have appealed to his base who views these antics as "arpha" but he didnt broaden his support or make inroads where he needed to.
Pretty clearly a missed opportunity at best and an own goal at worst. Libs writing the epitaph of his campaign are misguided ofc, but he needs to be more affable like he was in 2016 or more presidential like he was at the start of the debate before he let his instincts to be an asshole take over.
