Yeah it means you're a fucking idiot. I can't listen to any of his songs all the way through without getting bored EXCEPT In the Air Tonight which is one of the top 5 pop songs ever.

I used to think this. Is there a difference between being a fuckin' idiot and just losing IQ points with age?

Holy shit brother, you are about to enter the realms:

You’ll want to start with early 70-74 Genesis

Trespass (1970)

Nursery Cryme (1971)

Foxtrot (1972)

Selling England by the Pound (1973)

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974)

The latter is arguably the most underrated prog album of all time and literally perfect and unskippable from beginning to end

You can fast forward to a quick listen of his 4 first solo album Car, Scratch, Melt, Security and then I would immediately marinate in the double disc Plays Live album which is a top 10 all time live recording imo (1983).

Once you have your bearings on his solo art rock and it’s live renditions you can now let go and fully appreciate the more commercial pop and melodic tracks on the seminal ‘So’ album.

The rest you can dig into the singles from ‘Us’ early 90s on

PG is one of the most high IQ artists and no one save Paul Simon has successfully incorporated world music elements as they progressed over time.

In The Air tonight is the one I've heard 100 times that I think is total shit/boring.

Invisible Touch is poignant imho, a triumph

Everything he touched on abacab to duke is gold if we’re being 100% honest

Peter Gabriel is higher IQ but lacks pop sensibilities outside of So album

Phil is my toddler daughter’s favorite musician along with Queen and she requests a lot of his tracks all the time.

I can see the merit. He’s good. PG is better by an enormous margin but Phil is great
