Date: August 28th, 2022 5:06 PM Author: Comical clear parlour mexican I finally completed xenoblade 2 after stalling out multiple times. Gorgeous gameworld, great music, amazing direction on the cutscenes.
But outside of that, the game is pretty awful. Story and characters are mostly cringe. There are lots of incredibly, incredibly tedious and annoying gameplay mechanics made even worse by a shit UI. Remember how annoying it was in FFVIII when your party would change and you'd have to redo everyone's guardian force setup? Well imagine that spread around the world there are all these metroidvania-style traveral nodes where you need to have a certain rank in a certain skill to pass (like lvl 5 jumping), and every time that happens (which is a lot), you have to rearrange your party to pass the node.
I only slogged through because it supposedly has connections to Xenoblade 3, which I'm working on now. Xenoblade 3 is excellent and removes all of the bad things xenoblade 2 had. |
