Tank why didn't you do a better job holding aggro. Healer why didn't you remember to heal me too. Archer why did you shoot those other random guys and bring them over to fuck me up? It is not super fun.
In the games that are made for solo play they usually give you some shit that slows the enemies down or helps you avoid hits. This can be fun because you get to play in a more dynamic style and think about how to control crowds on your own.
Also in the old school D&D games you constantly had to rest to memorize your spells, which was either a gay chore (in the iterations where you could rest whenever) or a ridiculous constraint on your effectiveness (in the games where it was not safe to rest most places). I think everyone has moved away from this in favor of a points system that recharges over time and with potions, because you don't play a game in order to maintain a nap/homework schedule. |
