"On average Chadness" -- This eliminates Basketball, football and other Black-dominated sports -- as OP said "Chadness" and not "Darnellness".
MMA has too many shortmos.
Basketball has HEIGHT, but see above re Nigs.
Volleyball has HEIGHT, but male volleyball players are lanky in an unattractive way and they're all nerds. Plus not a major sport.
Really comes down to Hockey or Baseball.
Average height in MLB is ~6'2" as opposed to 6'1" for NHL. Point for Baseball.
But, MBL is only 57% White -- compared to 97% for NHL.
Clearly Hockey is the winner.

The question is whether, at the high schools that have top LAX teams, the top athletes tend to prioritize football or lacrosse. Answer here is clearly Lacrosse. |

Don’t get me started on fencing. If any of these “athletes” had been even slightly good enough to play on a highly rated travel soccer team, elite little leaguers or elite club basketball team or the like and they went to a high school that depended even slightly on revenue from athletics they would be pushed very hard to play football or basketball. The only places where a person “chooses” lacrosse are places where their athletic limitations have already been accepted and the schools are offering lacrosse as an extracurricular activity that is not meaningfully different from field hockey or debate or theater any other extracurricular where it might factor into college admissions, but it’s treated as a hobby for school aged children. I'm unfairly and selfishly trying to limit the conversation to the world I grew up in -- in which LAX and Hockey were BY FAR the major sports and Football the best football players were largely LAX / Hockey players playing it casually as a seconds sport they didn't care much about. Not representative of USA overall. |

Eg in DC, which is probably the biggest city where lacrosse is broadly considered to be a major sport, lacrosse is way bigger/more important at places like St. Albans or Landon, and even at Georgetown Prep there is legit football but it’s viewed as prole relative to lacrosse.
