This is an escalation of what’s been going on for 75 years but I doubt anything beyond the Iranian missile/drone strike happens. Iran obviously had to react strongly after Israel assassinated its generals and they did with a direct strike on Israel, but Iranians don’t want a broader war and they basically telegraphed that the drones were coming. Iran destroyed some airport or something so they can save face and Israel can say hah we shot down 99% of your gay drones you suck.

Israel probably does want a broader war but I don’t see any national consensus for it anywhere near like there was for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Biden needs to keep peace with the pro-Hamas wing of the democrat party, including Muslims in Dearborn Michigan. You can see his admin already leaked that they told Israel not to retaliate so that if they do, Biden can tell voters he was against it.

If Biden wins, I doubt his admin will reverse course. And if Trump wins, I expect we will not want to be entangled in another conflict that will deplete our arms and attention span while we really need to be prepared for China taking action in the Taiwan Strait.
