Does a great job of showing how rabid blacks were after the King riots and how incompetent the prosecution was at prosecuting OJ. They basically had a slam dunk case but got BTFO due to insane jurors and the worst prosecution of all time. Stand out moments: - the black lawyer on the defense is literally scum, all of his interviews are skin crawling. His anger at the 2007 charges is unbelievable. - the juror who said that 90% of the jury acquitted OJ as revenge for Rodney King. There is no political solution with these people. - OJ transitioning to full on slum lord after getting acquitted. - The Goldman's righteous never-ending campaign against OJ and publishing "If I Did It" but reducing the size of the word "If" so much that it just reads "I Did It"

That by itself introduces assloads of reasonable doubt. But there were white jurors who wanted to convict and gave in. They didn’t vote that way because of Rodney King. They voted that way because Clark and Darden were fucking retarded. A competent prosecutor may not have been able to get a conviction, but they could’ve gotten a hung jury and a new trial in Santa Monica. if i was one of the three white jurors my enthusiasm for hanging the jury would have been close to zero. there is no reason they needed to drag out a simple case that long. there was no need to risk shit like putting mark fuhrman on the stand or having oj try on the glove.
they really just overthought it. they were worried that they'd be criticized if they lost the case after strategically not bringing out some evidence. and it backfired tremendously. |

Purportedly Darden wanted to go for it on busting the jury and Clark refused (just like Darden said not to use Fuhrman and she wouldn’t listen).
Darden himself is just comically inept and in way over his head. He would get so tripped up and flustered by objections that were obviously coming and that the court tv commentators would preview. at every step of the way, from the investigation, to the district attorneys decisions, to the choosing of the prosecutors, to the prosecution's strategy -- they dropped the ball. you hate to see a murderer walk but the whole point of the justice system is ensuring the state does it's job before depriving someone of their liberty. they didn't. and if it wasn't for massive fuck ups like this then reform and improvement would never happen. following oj there were lots of BIG CHANGES in the la justice system. |
