Around 2PM Brian "Kato" Kaelin sees OJ in the kitchen area, arguing on the phone with his girlfriend Paula Barbieri

Paula wants to attend the dance recital for Sydney Simpson that night at Paul Revere Middle School, but OJ has told her no.
Kato describes OJ as extremely agitated. OJ hangs up the phone and tells Kato to set him up with a girl for the next Monday.
Meanwhile, Nicole Brown Simpson is shopping.

Ron Goldman is playing softball.

That evening the dance recital starts at 6PM. OJ arrives on his own and sits apart from the Brown family. Several independent witnesses describe OJ as glaring at Nicole throughout the dance, brooding.
There is video, however, of his demeanor just following the dance, at 25:50 in this clip

He appears to be in a good mood, kisses his children, embraces friends, and laughs.
Nicole, the children, and her family depart the school to have dinner at Mezzaluna in Brentwood. OJ is not invited to join them.

Around 8PM the Browns leave the restaurant, with Nicole putting the $230 bill on her AmEx. Her mother would accidentally leave behind her glasses on the table.
They stop for ice cream on the way home.
Around that same time, back at home, OJ calls an LA Raiderette and tells her "Welp, Im single."

Nicole calls her friend and occasional lesbian lover Faye Resnick and shares that she told OJ to leave the family alone, and that he was upset. Faye encourages Nicole to cut off OJ.

Just after 9, OJ asks Kato for $20 and they leave to buy take out from McDonalds.
Around this time, Nicole's sister calls Mezzaluna to report the lost glasses.
OJ and Kato return home with their McDonald's around 9:30, and Nicole has put the children to sleep at her Bundy Drive complex.

Kato leaves OJ standing in front of his house, in the driveway, and walks back to one of the guesthouses in the back of the property.

Around 9:45, Ron Goldman, a waiter at Mezzaluna, shares that he has a relationship with NBS and volunteers to drive the glasses to her house. He had finished his shift at 9:30. He leaves by 9:50
At 10:15, Nicole's neighbor hears the barking of a very agitated dog.
Inside Nicole's house, a container of ice cream rested on a stairway handrail, and a spoon was dropped on the stairs.
Anyone entering Nicole's property normally would have buzzed the gate and announced their presence. Nicole's door was unlocked and opened.
She had an Akita, named Kato, who must have accompanied her out the front door.

Coming out of Nicole's front door, she would encounter a patio of ten or fifteen feet that culminated in a series of steps down to the tiled pathway leading to the gate.
On her left was a small garden.

Goldman must have been buzzed in and approaching the steps when the murders took place. It is unclear the chronology, but Goldman was likely attacked first.
OJ stood behind him and jammed a knife into the base of his neck, and lifted him off the ground. Goldman was released and landed several punches, but was repeatedly stabbed and slashed. He fell hard into the fence on the property line, and crumbled against a tree.

He dropped a white envelope containing Judy Brown's glasses, and his car keys.
It is likely that OJ's knit cap and one of his gloves fell off during this struggle. Both were found around the body of Goldman.
Around that time, Nicole was also attacked. She was also stabbed in the back of the neck and lifted. OJ held his hand over her mouth, perhaps talked to her briefly, and then repeatedly stabbed her and sliced her throat so deeply that her spinal cord was severed, nearly decapitating her.

OJ then perhaps searched for his missing items, or did not, but he left along a pathway up the stairs leading along the side of the property and which ended in a gate at the back alley.
He dripped his blood, and the victims' blood, as he walked, and smeared some on the gate.
He climbed into his Bronco, where drops of his blood, Nicole's blood, and Goldman's blood stained the door handle and the interior carpet.
At the same time, a woman driving a Nissan claims a white Bronco cut her off in traffic, emerging from the alley. She identified the driver as OJ Simpson, whom she knew from TV.
At 10:22, about 7 minutes after the dog barked, a limo driver appeared at Simpson's Rockingham house. He did not notice the Bronco being present. He rang the buzzer and no one answered. He waited briefly and then called HQ. They were told OJ is always late and that he was to wait until 11:15. He waited.
During this time, Kato, back in his quarters, heard a large bump that shook the picture on his wall. He wondered if there was an earthquake.
He came to the front of the house.
At one point the limo driver noticed the Bronco, but did not see it pull in to park outside the gate in front of the house. At that time he saw a black man, 6 feet tall, around 200 pounds, walking down the driveway on the other side of the gate. He rang the buzzer again and OJ responded, saying, "Id fallen asleep. Ill be right out."
At this point Kato saw OJ in the front of the house.
OJ loaded his bags, including his golf bag, and they left for the LA airport.
Around 11:30 a man walking his dogs around Bundy finds an agitated Akita, Kato. It is marked in blood but appears uninjured. The dog barks until the man follows it back to Nicole's house, where the man can make out a woman's body down the walkway. He returns home and calls police.
Just after midnight two responding officers arrive and spot Nicole's body. They do not enter the crime scene, but evaluate it from the property line. One of them sees, using a flashlight, Goldman's body, as well as a knit cap and a glove.
They radio for homicide.
Homicide detective Vannatter arrives and makes his way into the Bundy property. He discovers the ice cream still melting, and finds drops of blood leading down the pathway and towards the gate. He sees a large portrait of OJ Simpson on the wall and sees the name OJ Simpson on mail in the kitchen.
As the other police make their way through the house, they find Justin and Sydney asleep in their bedrooms.
Late that night, in Chicago, OJ will explain that he broke a glass in his hotel room sink, cutting his finger.
Around 5AM Detective Mark Fuhrman arrives to join Vanatter. They have the children in custody and do not know where to bring them. They decide to drive to OJs house. They do not officially check out of the crime scene.
Years earlier, according to witness testimony, Fuhrman had told several people that he pulls over any black-male white-female couple and finds a reason to give a ticket. He also said, allegedly, "I would like to burn all niggers to death."
They arrive at the Rockingham house around 6AM and find the gate locked and no one responding. They inspect the Bronco, which they describe as oddly parked in the street. They discover blood on its handle and the appearance of blood in the car.
Claiming they are now investigating a possible crime scene, and without a warrant, Fuhrman climbs the fence and pops open the gate. They make their way to the back apartments, where they wake Kato. Kaelin, bleary eyed, appears to be on drugs, but consents to a quick drug test. He describes the bang he had heard. Investigating its source, Fuhrman discovers a glove that matches the Bundy crime scene.
They also note drops of blood throughout the entrance to the main house. They telephone OJ in Chicago to say that Nicole has passed away. "She was killed? She was murdered?" OJ responds, unprompted. "Oh God! No!"
Rockingham is held as a crime scene and a warrant is sought.
