My wife swears by StrongLifts and has used it for several months now. She was always in pretty good shape (way better than me), but now is even slimmer with a tighter butt.

Base strength.ai is a new app from Alex Bromley that uses ai to coach your progress. It may be shit but its a cool idea.

The RP hypertrophy app is a paid option to do the same thing that is very sophisticated

I probably put in 30 minutes of pure poasting when I'm at the gym so it's not for me. But in 30 minutes you could do enough deadlift and squats that you couldn't use the stairs on the way out. For OP I'd suggest not even worrying about time. Just work out until you know you're gonna be sore tomorrow. Keep it simple.

day 1: bench press, incline press, flies

day 2: squat, lunge

day 3: pull ups, standing row

day 4: deadlift, farmer walk

day 5: overhead press, lat raises

day 6: arms (optional)

day 7: rest

try to add weight as often as you can

eat a lot and eat healthy, sleep a lot

There are probably a million ways to do the above better, but Im also a dumb middle aged guy and the above seems to work for me.

Best advice: Spend a thousand or so and get a squat rack, bench, bar, plates, and some dumbbells. You'll spend the same for gym membership anyway, so just spend it upfront and save the 40 minute roundtrip commute. You can do all of this at ~30m a day

There's nothing to "start." You walk into the rack and squat. You're done when you collapse.
