Brady's stats in the 2nd half of that colts game when he played with properly inflated balls were much better than his 1st half stats with "deflated" balls. Then 2 weeks later he won the superbowl and passed for 4 TDs against the #1 ranked seahawks defense. I think those balls were properly inflated too

yeah, he really risked a lot. i haven't heard of deflategate since i bought a deflated football cake for a superbowl party i hosted. no one cares. also, it didn't matter. this is like the "deciphering signs scandal."

on every fucking play they toe the line on the rules and often commit penalties hoping they're unnoticed. it's a part of the game. you get a play off because a hold didn't get noticed and you rush to snap the ball before the refs know what's up.

i really don't think it was that big of a deal or that brady was directing it. people with the pats might have been involved and brady may not have cooperated with the investigation. that doesn't mean he was directing it.

also, athletes can "come back" from anything so long as they're still good. that's why they hire reckless dindu felons so long as they're good at the game. brady went on to win three more superbowls. that sticks out more in people's minds than a deflated football, for obvious reasons.

Tons of baseball players got dinged for steroids and continued their careers just fine. Even more football players and no one cares at all about it in that sport. It's a known secret the NBA right now is all on PEDs.

Baseball pitchers were scuffing the hell out of the ball like 3 years ag and they had to crack down on it. When a player gets caught now with sticky stff they just get tossed for that game and no one cares - it doesn't become this huge saga for decades.

Teams are fines or docked draft picks for cheating almost every year - pumping fake crowd noise, tampering, hiding shit from the salary cap.

Only the dumbest sports fan would consider deflategate anything other than the mildest of sports scandals. If the Astros was an 8, this was a 1.5....
