Physiotherapy is excellent for many conditions. It helped me a lot with lower back pain and knee pain. Most things take a month to show improvement and you have to do your homework, which is not always pleasant. The process is scientifically based and a good therapist can really help. Find one who is a DPT (3 years post-grad study) and has some experience.
First they did an assessment by measuring my strength and flexibility and looked the MRI. Then I got a list of about 20 different exercises. Some I did in sessions and some at home. Did not eliminate back pain, but reduced it from incapacitating to annoying. Took about 8 weeks.
