A whole bunch of Freedom Caucus members in the House have made "hell no" statements about what the Senate passed. Really hard to see how they can walk that back and vote for it anyway.

Which means the House amendments to what the Senate passed should make it even less appealing to Senate moderates, which means Murkowski, Collins and Tillis likely won't vote for it when it comes back from conference.

If that's the case, then the only way it passes is if Rand Paul votes for it. As crazy at that might sound, he said himself that he was negotiating today for a reduced debt ceiling increase in exchange for his vote. And I think the poll showing Massie losing by 30 points to whoever Trump endorses may put the fear of Trump into Paul, however tough he acts.
