A whistleblower claims not just 34 but around 100 sabungeros have been abducted and killed after they were caught cheating in cockfighting and other gambling operations in the country.

Whistleblower alias "Totoy" claimed more than 100 have gone missing or were killed in connection with illegal gambling operations including jueteng.

"Sa pagkakaalam ko, hindi lang 34 'yan. Mahigit 100 'yan. Kaya ako nananawagan sa lahat ng mga pamilyang namatayan, simula sa jueteng hanggang sa missing sabungero, lumantad na kayo at ako ang susi ng lahat," he said In an interview with ABS-CBN News.

“Totoy”, who claims to be a former farm manager and trusted aide of businessman Atong Ang, said the victims were killed after they were caught cheating in the cockfighting games.

"Gumagawa kasi sila ng mga kalokohan, pandaraya sa sabong," he added.

"Totoy" has linked Ang to the killings, saying the businessman did not want cheating to mar the cockfighting operations.

Ang, however, has denied all allegations and said that they will be filing a complaint affidavit against "Totoy" and one other whistleblower this morning.

"The accusations against Atong Ang are entirely false, baseless, and malicious. He categorically and unequivocally denies any involvement in the alleged unlawful, heinous, and criminal acts that have recently been reported and linked to him," Ang's legal team said in a statement.

"Totoy" said many of the victims were brought to Talisay, Batangas, near Taal Lake, where he believes they were tortured and killed.

Some policemen were also allegedly ordered to deal with the cockfighters for allegedly cheating.

DEATH BY STRANGULATION

"Totoy" admitted he did not witness the killings himself but claimed to have seen videos of the victims being strangled before his phone was confiscated and burned to erase evidence.

“May isang pulis na kaibigan ko ang nagpakita sa akin ng video. Pinakitaan ako ng video, sabi 'Ito, sir, hindi ka maniwala' doon ko nakita... na ang pagpatay sa mga missing sabungero ay hindi lang binaril o sinaksak, kundi yung parang kanta ba, killing me softly, nilalagyan ng tie wire yung leeg at iniikot ikot hanggang sa mamatay," Totoy said.

"Totoy" says he is ready to identify the police officers allegedly involved and has called on the PNP’s Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and CIDG to take urgent action.

"Yes. colonel 'yan, may colonel 'yan at mga pulis na miyembro niya. Kaya ko [identify]," he said.

But he also alleged that since some members of the Philippine National Police were involved, some are out to get him especially since a supposed bounty of ₱50 million is now placed on his head.

“Hinahunting nila at tumatawag sila sa ibang tao na mga kakilala nila na mga killer. Sa ngayon pinatungan na ako ng 50 million pesos para ako ay mapatay nila," Totoy said.

Asked if he believes justice will prevail, "Totoy" appealed directly to the President.

"Ako ay nanawagan sa ating mahal na Pangulo, na huwag niya pabayaan itong kaso ng missing sabungero," he said.

“Buhay ko na ang nakataya dito. Kapag nawala ako, mawawalan ng hustisya ang lahat ng sabungero at pamilya ng mga namatayan," he added.

When asked if he can help with locating the bodies of the victims, he said, "Wala akong masabi niyan. Bahala na si General (Nicolas) Torre. Bahala na si sir na magpaimbestiga niyan."

"Totoy" adds that he is just finalizing some details in his sworn affidavit, and he will be filing it in court in the coming days.
