it's actually less strain to sing that way, in 'head voice', because it allows him to sing without 'belting' or projecting his voice strenuously. if you watch closely, you see it's all microphone technique and he's actually singing at a very low volume. it's very sparing on the vocal cords over the long run. moreso than heavy metal shrieking, etc. those guys' voices are always trashed by age 40. |
