I was reading Steve Job's bio. I loled at the fact that he was not only a college dropout, but he had gone to a liberal arts college and refused to take core courses, he only took electives like calligraphy, dance and Shakespeare.

Then he got engineers to do what he wanted. Ofs, if it weren't for him, those engineers would have never left their HP and Xerox jobs. He had the vision to do the shit.

I'm reading this: https://www.amazon.com/Steve-Jobs-Walter-Isaacson/dp/1451648537

I actually got the Audible version because I can't concentrate on books anymore. I have to be multitasking. We're all turning into computers, JFC.

I am reading it now, still in the middle, I think it's worth reading. I mean, I always thought you needed to be a guy like Zuckerberg, who started coding at age 11 or so, in order to be great.

In this book you realize you can be a hippy, a Zen Buddhist and a liberal arts fuck up. As long as you can find the other side of the coin (a programmer who is brilliant but shy and socially awkward) you can team up and do something great. The programmer who designed the first Apple (Job's friend) got credit but only by the people who knew the story. The rest of the world credits Steve Jobs, he was the co-founder but the face of the company. The book states he was great at "reality distortion"--he made people do things they didn't know they could do.

We all evolve, what's your point though? Are you saying that we've evolved for smart people with ideas to no longer lead the packs and now shy programmers evolved to be both the mastermind and the tech guy? You don't really make sense or are making any real points.

you need to be at least smart enough to understand how an LLM works. you dont need to code, but you need an elevated degree of technical knowledge to communicate because things have gotten so much more complex.

Explain what's more complex than a touch screen when the touch screen still didn't exist? I mean, that was one of the biggest breakthroughs in decades. One of those nobody believed in, including the founder. We have AI now but that's part of the same, there's been automation going on for many years already. Sounds like you're making excuses to stay sitting at your desk mindlessly pushing papers.

You need to know about computers to direct engineers. You don’t need to code but you need to know their process, what tools they’re working with, and most importantly the products in the area you want to start a company in, including features, etc so that you can have an idea how you want to design your product

Credited, but Steve Jobs only knew about Atari when he founded Apple. He was some IT guy working the night shift.

He knew how to get engineers to explain shit to him and then how to squeeze all their knowledge and put it into great use.

This is always the case with older generations, unless you have some 20-year-old Zuck type. Older dudes will always employ young engineers and run shit.

Who's the ideas guy?

Here are other more recent CEOs of software companies who were not actual programmers. How retarded do you need to be, is it a self-defense mechanism to excuse yourself for doing nothing but be a pathetic lolyer?

Dennis Crowley, CEO of Foursquare

Andrew Mason from Groupon

Ben Silbermann from Pinterest

AirBNB founders

Mark Pingus, CEO of Zynga

Whisper founders
