that's the thing, at 125m there's so little room for variation unless his zero was just wayyyyyy off
biggest difference in ammo to cause POI shift would be velocity; difference in POI at 125m with 3100fps vs. 2700 fps is under an inch lol.
if he had a terrible gun or a bad zero, that might explain some of this, but with a good gun (1 MOA or better) and match ammo, a child who's never shot before has an excellent chance of making the shot at that range. |

second, this particular shot was on a descending angle, which is not quite as simple as a straight shot.
for those reasons, a few hours of training would be helpful for most shooters. |

The reason a lung shot with 5.56 does not fell a deer is because lung shots in general do not fell animals or people. The mechanism by which a lung shot kills a mammal is the lungs fill with blood, blood cannot carry oxygen to tissue, and you die of hypoxia.
The reason that 5.56 -- or 9mm for that matter -- would absolutely blow the back of someone's head off (for which, by the way, there is ample video evidence if you search even a little bit) is because the head is a closed sphere with a rigid superstructure. The skull cannot absorb force in the same way that organs and soft tissue can, so while the lungs are damaged by temporary cavitation due to fluid dynamics, there is much more give to them so they can absorb more shock without sustaining damage. The skull can only break.
Yours, however, could probably bend just fine because you are fucking retarded and there's nothing inside. |
