Pros:

-It is never distracted

-It is hyperaware of its surroundings and will see things you don't

Cons:

-It does make mistakes. When making an unprotected left, it might start to go because it thinks it can beat the oncoming traffic, then hesitate or stop and leave you in an awkward (but not dangerous) position.

-I once had it scrape a wheel pretty badly while pulling into a driveway.

The auto Youtuber savagegeese said it's better than 70% of drivers, and I think that's accurate.

I sometimes drive 500 miles per day. I have good reflexes but am frequently distracted. I am also physically and mentally blown the fuck out by the end of every day. Is FSD for me?

It's pretty amazing and works incredibly well. You have to take control if there are irregular traffic patterns and it does have occasional hiccups, but 99%+ it's faultless.

The only people who shit on it are either anti-Musk or anti-technology types. I don't think it's possible for an unbiased person to use it and not think it works very well.

It's notcibly improved over time but it happens slow enough that you don't really notice a difference outside of major updates. For example Mad Max mode is a huge improvement in navigating in cities.

mad max is too hyper active for me. I think it ends up being slower than hurry in some cases when it tries to weave and ends up stuck in an even slower lane

do you feel emasculated by having outsourced the mechanical act of driving to a machine?

personally i never want to be a passenger. need to be in control. sitting back while the machine takes control seemed like the literal most soyboy thing that could possibly happen

Try driving minimum 250 miles per day. And 700a few times per month, averaging 80k miles per year. Is it worth sacrificing your health?

Idk faggot do you feel emasculated replacing the mechanical act of walking with an automobile?

See what I mean about only anti-techmos hating it? When you want to drive for fun you can and I often do. But no, I don't feel emasculated letting my car drive itself during my commute to the office. Do you feel poor having to manually drive on a congested road while I POAST?

I am literally salivating at the thought of double-billing this class of obnoxious 3.5-hour trips I sometimes have to make for a certain set of cases. Bill travel to one and sit with my laptop and bill away on others.

Imagine you were doing a case involving Tesla or FSD itself. You could triple bill by calling the drive "research."

You can program it to do fun stuff like swerve at hitch hikers/pedestrians, tailgate, etc. Definitely good for some laughs

it's definitely pretty good but far from perfect. the huge caveat is that because it's pretty good, it's nearly impossible for people to pay sustained attention and be prepared to take over in situations when human input is needed. this can lead to catastrophic accidents
