Are they heading back to normal, pre-COVID levels any time soon? No.

Are they a good buy before the market prices in some kind of recovery where cruises aren't viewed as disease petri dishes? I think so.

They won't go back to 4-5x current price, but I could see is doubling in a year or two.

Thoughts?

cruises are floating dindu thunderdomes or 3rd world disease incubators, or both.

they all got tickets on groupon which cuts profits for future full-paying freights.

All the companies were in pretty good shape prior to COVID though.

Let's leave Carnival out, too. RCL and NCL are like a step above and are mainly white trash and middle class Hispanic travelers.

it's similar to airlines. expect 2-3 years for revenue to get back to 2019 levels. even after covid restrictions are gone individuals will remain paranoid; hence airlines forecasting up to three years to recover. the shares may bounce back before the companies are fully back to life, but watch out for bankruptcies, etc, in the years ahead.

I think RCL and NCL were in a good position financially, but they likely won't be able to take on new debt for a while to build new ships and drive growth for at least a few years. Could be a good 2-4 year hold.

Not invested in Carnival

I'm now positive on all my cruise stocks. Today was a good day.

I don’t own any capital so I can’t really speak to this. But I do believe that the surge in the price of TSLA and AMZN is unsustainable.

In this environment I can’t see CCL, RCL, or NCL ever coming back. NCL is especially fucked.
