the thing that really bothers me is that the apparent size of both the moon and the sun are pretty much EXACTLY the same. the odds of that happening are astronomically low. I've read astronomers say that even if Earth were a desolate, lifeless wasteland, aliens would still come here just to see eclipses, because it's basically impossible for the size v. distance of the moon to be near exactly the same as our sun |

i was looking at the moon a few weeks ago and i saw that it was lighting a circular halo around the clouds. lmao this thing isn't millions of fucking miles away, it's like 200 miles away. it's a local light. |

here's an easy deboooonker. you can look out at the sky and see venus and mercury at the same time. but wait... both of those "planets" orbit in a smaller ring closer to the sun. given the position of the earth (farther from the sun in a larger ring) then it would be impossible to see those planets... UNLESS YOU ALSO WERE LOOKING AT THE SUN AND IT WAS FUCKING DAYLIGHT OUT |
