fast forward 20 years and the richest man in the world is an autist obsessed with environmentalism and was responsible for essentially forcing EVs (a lib wet dream since the 70s) into existence. but, because he's a free speech guy (another core lib tenant) libs oppose him in everything. including truly bizarre things like flipping on EVs and supporting fossil fuels.
now we have a lib trying to retcon peak oil into a con thing. as if cons were the ones freaking out about oil scarcity in 2005. i'd say this is very well crafted flame, and maybe it is, but this is exactly what libs are literally doing right now so it's plausible that OP poasted this in earnest.

even though i was only in junior high, i remember thinking, "ffs isn't the reason demand and production were in lockstep was because the market was finding ways to fill demand?" and also thinking, "next month the market will continue to find ways to fill the demand, right?"
i was smart enough not to ask the question in front of that teacher but it was a redpill moment for me even at that age.
the funny thing is that those charts were ubiquitous at the time and i have a very hard time finding them today. almost like they've been scrubbed. |

when i was college i spoke to a petroleum engineer about Peak Oil and he laughed out loud. he said that the world easily has 1000 years of oil in various forms. USA and Canada alone are set for centuries. |
