I don't know a single song by any of those bands. Is this an older Gen X thing?

does white lion belong on this list? IMO they were an upper mid range hair metal band, not at the top, but a lot of solid hits and well known, from what I read lots of MTV airplay at the time

the rest Im with you

i had the same thought on this; they're not really that obscure

i'd swap in white sister and H.E.A.T instead. Maybe Paul Sabu too.

Subject: MPA Hair Metal (And Adjacent) Rankings

AC/DC was never really hair metal; Aerosmith a little more so but I'm not including either on this list. Nor am I including acts like Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Queensryche, or Judas Priest that had flirtations with the hair metal idiom.

S: W.A.S.P., Def Leppard, Dokken, Guns'n'Roses, Ratt, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Lordi, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi

A: Tesla, Kix, Skid Row, Europe, Poison, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Warrant, Y&T, Doro, Crashdiet, Enuff'Z'Nuff, Sammy Hagar

B: Night Ranger, Cinderella, Pretty Boy Floyd, Hardline, KISS, FireHouse, White Lion, Great White, Krokus, Winger, LA Guns, Lita Ford, The Darkness, Black'n'Blue, Steel Panther, Jackyl, Loudness

C: Autograph, Extreme, Slaughter, Faster Pussycat, Keel, King Kobra, Danger Danger, David Lee Roth, Steelheart, Love/Hate, Tyketto

D: Bang Tango, Mr. Big, Vixen, Britny Fox, Dangerous Toys, Damn Yankees, Nelson, Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Trixter, Helix, Bitch, Spread Eagle

I think I've maybe posted this once before. NEVER EVER heard anyone talk about this band...if you look closely, you'll see Frankie Banali from Quiet Riot on drums.

Group is called Heavy Bones. Came right on the cusp of grunge wiping out hair metal, and you can really hear the transitional Alice in Chains Facelift-era blend of sleaze and grungy rock.

lol I sorta vaguely remember this and its a pretty cool song. Had the alice in chains style chorus vocals for the verse too, heavy chugging vibe like AiC too
