Pakistan is literally the only country on earth that even claims to purchase these advanced weapons from China. That's always been a problem for China - it can't market its kit to foreign buyers if it's never been tested against real-time threats.
Now, Chinese weapons are being tested by someone other than China. China wants to see the weapons perform well, and it wants the world to see Pakis using them, so that they think "we can use those too." The sales pitch is less effective if China has to do the fighting.
EDIT and China knows India can't put on a good show. Look what they did for France.
