She's so untested. She's also utterly charmless outside of the lib echo chamber. Bernie is far better at crossing the aisle and imparting goodfeels. I don't even think AOC could win a statewide race in New York. She's never faced any kind of outside challenge or difficult test.
Her whole shtick is pie in the sky. Tax the rich and then massive handouts and the world will be perfect. If this idea were popular wouldn't somebody have won on it by now? |

If you don't like right populism, if you don't want a President who is trying at least on paper to restore the working class, and you don't want a left populist who wants to tax the rich and expand government services, then what do you want? What do Democrats stand for heading into the future?
You hate working class people and small businesses and want America to remain a service economy based on educated brain jobs, you don't think poor people ought to have any more handouts, you're not bothered by the national debt, and you don't want to tax the rich to pay for everything. So... What are you now proposing? You just want low interest rates, cheap labor, cheap goods, stonks go up forever as real wages decline, only 10% of people UMC and up have any type of future, middle of the country becomes an apocalyptic wasteland?
Fill me in because I may not agree with AOC but I can at least see how the progressive left is offering hope and change. What do mainstream Dems offer? A vision where Biden's America was really headed in a great direction? |

Half the country has no way to afford anything. They have no future indefinitely. You focus on people with college degrees. You have women eventually surpass men economically. Being a boy is basically a curse. Taxes on the middle class have to go up to pay down the debt because you're never going to get it from rich people. Tech is the only growth sector. A small number of people get ludicrously wealthy and can fly to Mars or whatever. Life gets worse for the majority of people.
OK can you see now why Trump won? Because maybe this pitch didn't sound so great to anyone not living in an ultra nice suburb? That the American Dream is only for 10% of people and not for everyone? |

So even high profile Dems are now saying it was wrong for the left to abandon the working class. Libs talk a lot about democracy. This is democracy. You have 50% of the country that doesn't like you. And maybe that will swing back but in 2024 that's how it was.
So I really don't think go back to business as usual and poors can just continue on being poor is the right strategy. Hence all the buzz for AOC. Even left wing poors want hope and change. The old regime is dead. |
