Houston’s tallest residents will have the chance to see eye to eye for one night this weekend.
The Tall Tour, a traveling social event for tall adults, is bringing together Houstonians who spend most of their lives head and shoulders above everyone else.

The event takes place from 6-10 p.m. May 16 at Tom's Watch Bar and is part of a multi-city national tour designed for the “vertically inclined” to connect over a shared experience: constantly being the tallest person in the room, according to the event’s website.
The Tall Tour brings together “a community that tall people didn’t even know they needed,” said founder Tyler Bergantino, who is 6-foot-9.

While anyone can attend the Houston event, organizers reserve VIP access for taller guests. The Tall Tour requires minimum heights of 5-foot-8 for women and 6-foot-1 for men for VIP admission.
The Tall Tour is “less of an exclusive club and more as a social meetup where tall people can simply blend in for once,” Bergantino said.
“It’s a tall tour for people that just want to be surrounded by other tall people,” Bergantino added.
The tour mixes nightlife and networking with humor about the realities of living life above average height. Online videos from previous events feature attendees joking about finally being able to lose their friends in a crowd, reach eye level in group photos and stop answering basketball questions from strangers.
For attendees used to towering over grocery store aisles, concerts and crowded bars, the event offers something unusual: feeling average.
Instead of sticking out in the crowd, Houston’s tallest residents may finally stand shoulder to shoulder with people who understand the awkward airplane seats, too-short pant hems and endless “How tall are you?” conversations that come with life above 6 feet.
