In 2006 there was STRONG sentiment for the natty to be rematch of Slowhio State and Michigan. Instead 1-loss, largely unimpressive SEC champ Florida got in and absolutely wiped the floor with the Suckeyes outgaining them 380 yards to like 70. Made them look like the Citadel
That’s what started the SEC dominance. The next year 2 loss LSU also dominated the Suckeyes.
SEC kept on getting benefit of the doubt because they deserved it and they kept on beating teams 2008 Florida over Oklahoma 2009 Alabama over Texas 2010 Auburn over Oregon etc etc |
