it always annoyed me a bit. it never even made sense in the american context. america is an empire with a strong central state apparatus since the whiskey rebellion. stop LARPing.

Shalom friend. I agree that it's lame and gay when elected representatives have principles. Politicians exist only to uphold the long-standing deep state and its commitment to world Jewry.

obviously his replacement is a pure shill. that's not 'better.' however, massie was more or less the last actual stalwart of the whole ron paul scene (even paul's own kid has backed away from that stuff over time). it was always a silly affectation, and it doesn't work in practice.

My approach to democracy is, I vote for the person who I think would best represent and serve me, based on their ideology and personal character. So my belief system actually favors rather than discards people who are idealistic and whose political philosophy is at somewhat at odds with how things Actually Are. It's a given that their service will be within the constraints of the system and that they won't be able to fully implement their ideals.

Cr record is very important when applicable; I'd just roll that in with character but it makes sense to call it out separately since it's a more direct predictor.

It doesn't work in practice [now] because everyone is too busy looting. Rand is a hundredth of the man his father is, unfortunately. But he is much better and more honest than most

Libertarians are completely retarded faggots but I do find it darkly(?) amusing that their "the government and taxation are literally just Evil" shtick ended up being probably the most consistently correct "political philosophy" of our lifetime

I don't think any other approach to American "politics" has been so completely vindicated. Unfortunately this approach does not gain or coalesce power in practice, so it's totally ineffective beyond being correct in principle

modern libertarianism has always felt very EVASIVE to me, and therefore either silly or cowardly, depending on circumstance. "just reduce the 'size' of government, bro!" - as though that's an actual available policy choice.

no. obviously not. the american imperium has been a structural reality for decades at this point. if your goal is not to CAPTURE state power and use that power toward the reshaping of the imperium, it means you intend to capture that power then give it away to other interests.

that's not a serious outlook on governance. it's dilettantism. and dilettantes annoy me.

Yeah, that's why I called them retarded faggots. They refuse to engage with reality. Cowardly and pretentious is probably a better way to put it

I just think it's funny that they ended up being "right." Like what has Trump actually gotten "us." Nothing permanent, nothing truly helpful that won't just be reversed as soon as libs control the government again

What would have actually been effective would have getting DOGE to work and really throwing weight behind it. To this day I think it was the biggest actual win of this Trump admin. Every few days I see some new thing on Twitter where someone discovered some insanely evil and ridiculous thing that USAID was funding and organizing. The stuff that DOGE succeeded in gutting actually did make a permanent difference, unlike anything else this admin has done

In that way, libertarians have been proven pretty correct in their belief that government is just The Enemy, period

«their "the government and taxation are literally just Evil" shtick ended up being probably the most consistently correct "political philosophy" of our lifetime»

Libertarians actively promote this evil, though. Just do have open borders and allow businesses to be as rapacious as they can be with no repercussions and the end result is going to be self-interested people coalescing into a government that serves their own interests.

it was always completely retarded and the fact that 10% of 'Ron Paul's or Massie's politics aligned with an actual based POV never changed that.

Get Massie off the topics of AIPAC and Epstein and the nefariousness of World Jewry (solid positions), and he was a completely retarded dorm-room Ayn Randoid.

Anyone voting for a Caplan / CATO institute kind of guy is not passing any IQ test. It’s too easy to see the obvious shortfalls of libertarian logic. Disempower yourself and hope that everyone else in your community/country/society does the same. In the u usual event that they do, throw your borders open in the hopes that every person on the planet is willing to cooperate too. And remove any enforcement mechanism to force people to cooperate, because it’s government overreach.

The end state of libertarianism is always the same: a totalitarian government that crushes libertarians.

I hope that when Thomas Massie’s term ends on January 3, 2027, he refuses his congressional pension so he doesn’t add to the national debt. That would be the libertarian thing to do.

They have always been in an unrealistic bubble untethered to plain and obvious existence, but there is a place for "I'm not going along with that" in our political discourse and today it is clearer than ever that the rest of the lot are actual israeli house niggers undermining american interests for their own self benefit.

CR. Just like Trump has always been pretty stupid but at least he was ostensibly against the establishment.

I'd rather have a libertarian retard voting NO on endless war than a genius Vance or Pelosi political operator that votes for elite interests and against everyone else's.
