I never got why at ivy league schools, the goal of the pre-med program is to try and get half the really smart kids (if not more than half) to stop being doctors.
The classes are brutally curved, then they make you spend all your weekends volunteering in hospitals instead of partying, then you give away your life for 10 years making no money.
The result is there's almost no normal American doctors, instead you find out you have cancer and have to wait 3 months for someone who studied at the University of Santa Domingo to examine you.
Would it really be that bad to just relax the program and have some of those chill Cornell kids who ended up in finance be doctors without sacrificing their 20s and early 30s? |
