The gap between PAs and NPs and people who've actually passed the step 2 is insanely wide that it takes an especially brilliant NP decades to be as good as the shittiest MD. I was having this conversation just last week with someone who does hiring for a hospital bc either PAs or NPs (forget which) are lobbying to be able to act as primary care providers without supervision of a physician, and I thought "that's not so bad since PCPs are basically just triaging and referring you to the real doctors" and the hospital bro was like "lol NPs are fucking retarded"
i don't care how dumb you are, step 2—even in its proposed pass/fail form—indicates a level of medical knowledge far beyond what most PAs and NPs will ever achieve in their career.s |
