As for MV, besides the fact that you can’t send a “bus” to an island, any group of migrants sent there would be immediately sent back to the mainland. There was a popular thread on here early last fall when desantis sent a batch of migrants to MV. People seemed to actually think that the migrants would be staying on MV. I predicted that they’d be eating smuckers uncrustables on a bus back in Malden (MA) within 48 hours. I think it actually took less than that amount of time.
Do you guys ever think anything through? There is no chance in heck the migrants would’ve stayed on MV. The residents get to make a show of housing and feeding them for the night before shipping them out the next day. There are no moral qualms about it on the side of MV residents because all of the resources/workers/etc. needed for the aliens are close to the city. It’s a convenient yet valid excuse to never allow migrants to camp permanently in affluent areas. People not from MA also don’t realize that when this all happened, jt was late enough in the year that most seasonal residents (aka the really rich people) had already left.
MA govt (incl. an increasing # of DNC-installed stooges determined to destroying Boston) operates according to a two-tiered system. The poors/MC are seen as cattle to be engineered (the Mayor openly is trying to make the city undriveable using bike lane terrorism while simultaneously presiding over an unreliable/literally decaying/dangerous/addict-infested public transport system) while the state govt will literally bend over backwards and spread their legs for wealthy ppl who don’t want to see any societal decay in their towns/vacation towns. The govt controls one group and serves the other. If you drive around even nice parts of the city, it’s looking more and more like zombie land out there. Really messed up stuff and markedly different from 10 years ago. (Few wealthy families actually live *in* the city. Tech bros and transient young professionals who came here for jobs don’t have any attachment to the city and don’t know/care about things changing because they just want $). If you drive 30 minutes away(in an imaginary world where extreme traffic doesn’t exist) into certain suburbs, it’s like some picturesque 2023 version of 1950s pleasantville stereotype, maybe with a few tranny rainbow flags thrown in. Stately colonials on perfectly manicured lawns with kids walking safely to the town center for ice cream. The state govt will never interfere with rich people who want to go to the cape/islands. That’s where their real problems would begin. I know the city/suburb divide isn’t unique to MA but I’m trying to emphasize how much negative change is occurring in the former while the latter remains largely unchanged for the time being |
