I completely disagree that peak Clinton was better than Trump. Trump was incredibly 180 throughout his campaign against Hillary, no one in the history of this country has fought off an establishment and media apparatus that mocked him at every turn while he simply did not GAF and just kept tweeting and mocking all the fags that dared challenge him. It was incredible. They tried SO HARD to make people hate him and yet people actually loved him. In contrast the other two were feted by the elites in this country who helped shape their perception, it was life on easy street. You can't underestimate the pressure Trump was under in those years and yet he ran the most improbable campaign (given his past) to the WH.
I think Soetoro was the least charismatic out of the three in his prime but is second now obviously because Hillary beat any remaining life out of Bubba.

To be fair,
Trump is incredibly charismatic and politically shrewd, but on a pure charisma level he doesn't come close to matching PEAK BUBBA.
At his height, Bill Clinton was almost certainly one of the most charismatic men who has ever lived. He was incredible to watch when he really turned on the charm back in the 90s. I have also heard from multiple people -- some rabidly right-wing -- who met him in various capacities back then that you simply couldn't meet him in person and not walk away kind of loving him, even if you disagreed with him about everything and thought he was an immoral slimy scumbag. As charming as Trump is, that's obviously not true in his case.
What you're describing is the one metric in which Trump soundly beats every other modern political: having giant brass balls. When it's time to rock and roll and it really matters, Trump simply refuses to cuck or back down. Period.

To be fair,
"I met Bill Clinton on several occasions back in the 1990s and 2000s -- all group events, not like dinner at his house or anything -- and if you got within 10 feet of him in a crowded room and he saw you and flashed you a smile (and he somehow managed to do this with everyone present before the night was through), you were guaranteed to walk away thinking that the two of you had shared a very special moment and genuinely connected in a deep human way, even if he didn't say a word to you and you had never met him before and on some intellectual level you knew that that feeling couldn't possibly reflect reality."
- Close paraphrase of what a (very right-wing) acquaintance once told me

They all have different skillsets
Obama - best at inspiring
Clinton - best at connecting
Trump - best at entertaining
