Faith based religion vs rule based religion. Judaism is all about following the rules, which opened the door to an entire religious class that does nothing but interpret Jewish rules and the Talmud which is a "best of" of these analysis. Christianity is all about faith so there's no need for that bs where you try to fool God.

It isn't "antinomianism" it is about the basis of the religion and whether you can just follow a bunch of rules (even if only by the letter of the law) and be a faithful Christian or Jew even if you believe in very little. In the latter case, absolutely. In the former, nope.

No, Jesus didn't "lay down a lot of rules" in the way that Judaism does. He never required specific clothing, diet, and so on. Judaism is all about super detailed rules that effectively separate Jews from the rest of society. Christianity is the opposite of that. To the extent there are rules they relate to faith and treating others well.

main similarity is obedience and conformity to the will of each "father"

One's primarily based on returning to the Source - Exitus et Reditus - and understands reality as a regression from a fall from a higher, perfect state as Created Beings. It is Platonic, patriarchal, benevolent, self sacrificing.

The other does not have a Source of everlasting life, there's nothing to return to, only sheol, nonexistence. This other father gives them an alternative cosmic mission and destiny. They must create themselves and save themselves. For them reality is progress through evolution, genetic enhancement, self deification - why judaism is both a religion and ethnē. They're not Created Beings they are always a Becoming. Salvation is centered around power, pride, prejudice, resentment, rivalry, revenge. They're allergic to (and violent toward) platonic reminders of who they are, so things like masculinity and heroic virtue are despised and suppressed.

7 Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, 2 they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. 3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly,[a] holding to the tradition of the elders, 4 and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash.[b] And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.[c]) 5 And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?” 6 And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,

“‘This people honors me with their lips,

but their heart is far from me;

7 in vain do they worship me,

teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”

9 And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 11 But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)[d]— 12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, 13 thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

Yes why dont Christians follow a book that says that Jesus is "boiling in feces for eternity" I wonder?

https://www.sefaria.org/Gittin.57a.4?lang=bi&with=all&lang2=en

Onkelos then went and raised Jesus the Nazarene from the grave through necromancy. Onkelos said to him: Who is most important in that world where you are now? Jesus said to him: The Jewish people. Onkelos asked him: Should I then attach myself to them in this world? Jesus said to him: Their welfare you shall seek, their misfortune you shall not seek, for anyone who touches them is regarded as if he were touching the apple of his eye (see Zechariah 2:12).

Onkelos said to him: What is the punishment of that man, a euphemism for Jesus himself, in the next world? Jesus said to him: He is punished with boiling excrement. As the Master said: Anyone who mocks the words of the Sages will be sentenced to boiling excrement. And this was his sin, as he mocked the words of the Sages. The Gemara comments: Come and see the difference between the sinners of Israel and the prophets of the nations of the world. As Balaam, who was a prophet, wished Israel harm, whereas Jesus the Nazarene, who was a Jewish sinner, sought their well-being.

Telling that Jesus’ sin here is mocking “the Sages” rather than blasphemy or offending God.

Christians do not follow the Talmud for several reasons. First and foremost, the Talmud is a central text of Rabbinic Judaism, which is distinct from Christianity. While Christianity and Judaism share some common roots in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), they diverge significantly in terms of their theological beliefs, practices, and interpretations.

The Talmud is a compilation of Jewish legal discussions, ethical teachings, folklore, and commentary on the Hebrew Bible. It is considered authoritative within Jewish tradition and serves as a guide for religious observance, Jewish law, and moral conduct. However, it does not hold the same significance for Christians.

Christianity follows the teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament. Christians consider the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus to be central to their faith, and they look to the teachings of Jesus and the apostles for guidance in matters of faith and practice.

Additionally, the Talmud contains specific regulations and practices that are relevant to Jewish religious and cultural life but may not be applicable to Christians. It deals with subjects like dietary laws, Sabbath observance, ritual purity, and the functioning of the Jewish priesthood, which do not hold the same importance or relevance within Christian theology.

Furthermore, the Talmud was developed within the context of Jewish tradition and interpretation, which may not align with Christian theological perspectives. Christians rely on their own scriptural texts, such as the Old and New Testaments, and their own theological traditions to guide their beliefs and practices.

While Christians may study the Talmud for academic or comparative purposes, it is not considered authoritative or binding for their faith. Each religious tradition has its own sacred texts and interpretive frameworks, and Christians, guided by their own beliefs and traditions, follow a distinct path in their spiritual journey.
