Nvidia is such a shit company. The new lineup looks like SHIT. Looking forward to picking up a 3090 for $500, but I'm honestly seeing benefits to the new Radeons, except that I don't know what linux drivers are like for those. |

I think what this shows is that it does almost NOTHING. Even if you don't give a fuck about Portal, you can see that what Nvidia calls "ray tracing" only affects how light emanates from and onto portions of the image. The objects themselves are not ray traced. If you want to see what actual ray tracing looks like, look at any Pixar movie.
