Boeing engineer neighbor said the SpaceX model and Blue Origin development processes are completely different. Blue Origin landed their rocket at sea on the very first attempt. This was after years of modeling and prep to get everything perfect...And years after SpaceX. SpaceX just throws shit at the wall and moves fast as fuck.

The prior launch pad they purposely exposed different materials knowing it would eventually lead to failure just so they could observe what worked best. This was on their primary piece of infrastructure to launch rockets.

SpaceX is now responsible for over 90% of all the materials humans have sent into space. That's nuts.
