Sony aired Commercials during NFL/MLB/NBA/nickelodeon/MTV and Proles came out in droves as did UMC and everyone in between. Kind of like how Sega fans don’t exist online, it’s the same deal with western PS1 fans for various reasons but in those years CDs were Cool and just having a device that played them was Cool, better still if you kept them in Nylon Binder. It wasn’t just JRPGs. As many came for Croc and Spyro and Medal of Honor and Coolboarders and Tomb Raider as did for JRPGs, if not more.
